Air temperature 46 F, wind northeast 13 mph gusting to 24, cloudy. Not supposed to rain until tonight, lasting into tomorrow. Not downloading plans for an ark. Yet. Trash out.

For those surprised at the right-wing attacks on the new Pope, starting as soon as he was named -- remember that a lot of Protestant "Christians" fear and loathe the Catholic Church. They remember centuries of persecution.

One of the houses on my walk route has a small bunch of red trillium blooming by the foundation. Another forest species, has to have been planted, and I don't recall ever seeing it there in past springs. In other news, our lily-of-the-valley horde is starting to put up flower stalks and buds.

And our azalea hummingbird is back this morning. Haven't been able to check on the throat status, ruby or plain. Wife says that she saw one perched that was definitely a male.
